About The New Voices

  • Hello~!

(This was originally a reply, but it wasn't showing up)

I checked the credits from the Season 3 premire and it turns out that Brianna Gentilella is the only member left from the original main cast (aside from Tino Insana and Chris Phillips). I'm assuming that she only sings for Molly now.  I made a list of all the new voices and did I little web surfing to see who plays who. I wasn't able to find out what parts of the characters they play:

    Gil-Jacob Bertrand (Speaking?)

    -Teddy Walsh (Singing?)

    Molly-Baliey Gambertoglio (Speaking?)

    Goby-Marleik Walker (Speaking and singing?)

    Deema-Grace Kautman (Speaking and singing?)

Nonny- Jet Jurgensmeyer (Speaking and singing?)

    Lil' Fish-Mia Vavasseur

And I'm guessing Tori Fensten is Oona. I couldn't find who she played, just that she's in the show. I'll admit, I was a little sad when I found out that most of the voices were replaced, but that's what happends when an young actor's voice changes...or they want to move on...or their contract expires. The voices are very close and fitting though. I thought Deema's VAs were still there at first, just with maturer voices. I had to listen really close to hear the difference in Gil's voice.

I think the new cast is doing fine and will get better later on. Bye~!

    • Where did you get this info? I found in Season 3 credits from a tv site they were all the same actors. I know Bertrand was there as Gil since Season 2, otherwise I've never heard of anyone else here. Its sad to see these phenomenal voice actors leave one of the best production corps I've ever seen in any program (animated or not). If Gentiliella ever leaves fully, Bubble Guppies as we know it would cease to exist (BG: The Next Generation?).

I, for one, hate to see a show with this much potential- that's already living way up to it- go this way, so early.

I recorded the episode on my DVR and wrote down the names of the voices involved. The annoying thing about tv sites and the credits in the tv guide is if their's a change of voice actors in a show, they're not likely to be included in the informantion.

I didn't realize Jacob had already taken over until recently. He sounds pratically identical to Zack! And that would really stink if Brianna left. I LOVE her voice! Hopfully she'll stay 'til the end.

Don't be too bummed out about the new voices, it could have been a lot worse. xD I'm sure they didn't want to change the cast, but they can't stop the show because the group weren't able to sound like their characters again. The show runners proabably wanted the kids to sound more authentic and trying to sound like the characters while their voices were changing probably didn't sound as good.

    • I recorded it on my DVR too and I didn't see such thing. But I did see the name "Jet".You probably mistaked the cast for something else XD.There would've been some type of proof if the voice actors changed.Goby sounds the same,Deema sounds the same, and Nonny kinda sounds the same (they kinda took that deepness out of his voice XD).Until there is an actual announcement,I don't think that we should be worried.

Towards the end of the episode, the credits started to appear at the bottom left hand corner. I paused the recording when the voice acting credits came up and wrote these names down.

    • I know that,I watch Nickelodeon almost everyday (it is my favorite TV network).Until we get some real accurate proof, like Nick stating it themselves, there is nothing to worry about. And even if it did change,I think Nick would change it back due to the low quality of the songs.Well, the songs were good,it just it didn't sound right.

But the credits came straight from the channel. That's basically Nick saying it themselves.

Voice acting credits for "Get Ready For School"

I doubt Nick will bother releasing info on the new voices like they did with the press site when the show first came out, but if they did, it would be the same list of names I gave.

"Change it back"?  Change back the voices? If the actors' voices have changed and that was the reason for the re-casting, I don't think they'll bring them back because of the song quality. I thought he songs were fine..."Get Ready For School" was nice, "The School Dance" had the same intrumental from "Do The Check-Up"; the main reason why I enjoy both of the songs.

Besides, the Season just started. I'm sure we'll hear even better songs.

    • Insana, Phillips, Walsh, Bertrand and Gentilella (somewhat) are still here, I guess there are more returning cast members than previously thought- its just most of them are additional, almost uncerdited voices.

So long as Michael Rubin keeps writing songs for Gentilella to sing, I find no reason for concern in this area of the show.

    • Ohmygosh, Deema's new VA is the daughter of Danny Phantom! I'm flippin' out!

And it's been confirmed that Grace does the speaking and singing for Deema.

    • Something intresting I noticed about the credits to Humunga-Truck!:

Zack was still credited in the list of voices along with Jacob Bertrand and Teddy Walsh. I'm wondering if maybe it was a mistake or he did some of Gil's parts while either  Jacob or Teddy took over. Maybe Zack's role for  the "Diary of A Wimpy Kid" movies prevented him from being Gil full-time?

Yeah, there's another new episode coming out this Friday, but for some reason, they have the new episode listed for Monday as well. Probably a mistake or change of plans...

Or were you talking about the Wimpy Kid movies? That, I do not know. When I said the movies may have prevented Zack from being Gil full-time,it depends on which movie came out during Season 2's production. I don't know if they really interfered. It was just a guess...

I hate their new voices. Also, why can't Molly be voiced by Brianna for speaking?

It could not have been worse. The new VAs ain't trying to sound like the old ones.

Some guesses I've come up with are:

      • Her voice might have changed and affected her speaking more than her singing
      • The show-runners may have wanted someone who sounds younger to speak for her
      • Recording speaking parts may conflict with her schedule so she only concentrates on the singing parts

There are many possible reasons for this. Whether I've listed it or not.

Guppygirl wrote: It could not have been worse. The new VAs ain't trying to sound like the old ones.

It really couldn't be worse? The show-runners could have given up on young actors and started picking adults not even trying to sound young! *coughsomeeuropeandubscough* Or everyone could have had the same exact voice! Or for some crazy reason, they could have decided to make the characters mute like Tom and Jerry to cut production costs! It really could be worse! xD

I'm glad they re-casted the the kids instead of doing any of the outrageous stuff I just mentioned. Throughout the show's run, there will be voice actors coming and going. Some of them will sound more similar to the older voices than others. After that young actor or actress' voice changes to the point that they no longer fit the character, they will not be casted again. I miss the old cast too but they're not coming back. You should calm down a little and give the new ones a chance...don't compare them too much to their older voices; think more about if there voices alone fit the characters.

Speaking of new voices, Gil and Goby are getting new ones for the next Season.
